New armies specific to Rise of Rome

Post by moet »

Sorry, but I did not receive an answer to this previous question :

Is this list of new armies coming with Rise of Rome exhaustive ?

Armenian (Early)
Attalid Pergamene
Bosporan
Illyrian
Jewish (Later)
Numidian or Early Moorish
Pontic
Ptolemaic (Later)
Seleucid (Later)
Spanish (Ancient)

The product page lists all the armies - it is much than you have there.

Well, I compared with what a Field of Glory owner get with the 1.1.2 patch and
it seems to be those armies that are specific to Rise of Rome.

Which armies are missing ?

Ian already pointed you in the right direction, but here, I've cut and pasted the list:

Mid-Republican Roman
Late Republican Roman
Gallic
Pyrrhic
Later Carthaginian
Ancient Spanish
Later Macedonian
Attalid Pergamene
Numidian or Early Moorish
Later Seleucid
Later Ptolemaic
Pontic
Spartacus Slave Revolt
Early Armenian
Parthian
Later Jewish
Bosporan
Illyrian
Plus a selection of allied armies to bolster your main force

This list is actually incomplete; many armies have various iterations, and there are armies like "Suren Indo-Parthian".

These are all the armies available with the Rise of Rome game, but the following were already available in the Field of Glory game :

Mid-Republican Roman
Late Republican Roman
Gallic
Later Carthaginian
Later Macedonian
Spartacus Slave Revolt
Parthian

I would had "Pyrrhic" to my list above, so the complete list of armies specific to Rise of Rome would be this one :

Armenian (Early)
Attalid Pergamene
Bosporan
Illyrian
Jewish (Later)
Numidian or Early Moorish
Pontic
Pyrrhic
Ptolemaic (Later)
Seleucid (Later)
Spanish (Ancient)

There are no armies available in FoG, only unit grpahics which can be placed in the scenario editor. The arrmies are a completely new thing in Rise of Rome and part of the Digital Army Generator (DAG) :)

Well if you want to be specific and exact, ROR adds new miniatures for many of those original FOG forces, and like Ian said, ROR puts them into an army building tool (DAG). Also, just to be exact, many of those armies consist of several differen variants, and you are missing one I mentioned (Suren Indo-Parthian). With the new miniatures and the way the armies are separated into variants, it doesn't make much sense to say that a certain force was already done by FOG; just look at the full list taken from the DAG:

Later Macedonian
Attalid Pergamene
Mid-Republican Roman
Late Republican Roman
Late Republican Roman (Brutus & Cassius)
Gallic (Early Lowlands)
Gallic (Early Hill Tribes)
Gallic (Late Lowlands)
Gallic (Late Hill Tribes)
Pyrrhic
Pyrrhic (in Italy)
Pyrrhic (in Greece)
Later Carthaginian (pre-235BC)
Later Carthaginian (post-235BC)
Later Carthaginian (in Italy)
Later Carthaginian (in Africa)
Illyrian
Spanish (Iberian)
Spanish (Lusitanian)
Spanish (CeltIberian)
Numidian (Juba I)
Numidian (Bogus)
Numidian (Juba II)
Later Seleucid (pre-166BC)
Later Seleucid (post-166BC)
Later Ptolemaic (Greek)
Later Ptolemaic (Roman)
Pontic (early)
Pontic (late)
Spartacus Slave Revolt (HF)
Spartacus Slave Revolt (MF)
Early Armenian
Early Armenian (Tigran the Great)
Early Armenian (Khosrov I)
Parthian
Parthian (Saka Campaign)
Suren Indo-Parthian
Later Jewish (Hycranus II)
Later Jewish (48BC-47BC)
Later Jewish (Antigonus)
Bosporan (early)
Bosporan (mid)
Bosporan (late)
