I just picked up an 800 pt challenge in the MP lobby, expecting a RoR game (opponent's army wasn't posted). I was pretty surprised to find that I've got a play an 800 pt SoA game, and this is before I even installed SoA!
I subsequently noticed that in the text box it says which game is involved, but it would be extremely helpful to make the distinction easier to spot, maybe make the challenge a different color, or something like that.
RoR or SoA in MP???

?? You're already telling us, its just hard to notice. Also, it would be good be be able to filter out SoA battles from the MP lobby (I didn't see this option, but maybe I missed it).iainmcneil wrote:Tricky - we dont want to give too much away. Even telling what book an army is from gives clues so we need to think about this.
And I don't think it is too much to ask to know whether you'll be facing an ancient army or a medieval army, I generally don't want to be mix and matching.

I don't know about the other players, but I have virtually zero interest in playing classical greeks or persians vs Swiss halberdiers, Late Republic Roman legions, or whatever. While its great that people will have that opportunity, I don't see why the MP lobby should be very concerned about who would have an advantage in such matchups.iainmcneil wrote:I'm thinking ahead - when Immortal Fire releases you want to be able to play RoR or IF. Should you know if your opponent is from IF or RoR. It gives you an advantage.
Adding more filters is something we need to look at as the lobby is getting very busy.
I guess the easiest might be to have two filters:
1) one for the army list (RoR, SoA, IF, etc.); and
2) whether that army list can be matched against other army lists.
