Editing "blocked" and "ford" terrain

Post by moet »

I followed the explanations of the help menu (Scenario Editor), but I was not able to replace a bridge over stream by a "ford".
I'm an not able either to use the "blocked" terrain on any hex.

I dont have fog available right now to fiddle with but in most games editors creating a bridge over a river usually involves a road... Try making a road over the river and the game, I think, automatically makes the bridge which you then can change to a ford..

I dont think blocked hex is utilized at tis time...

May be the problem is there : when I cross a stream with a road, there is no bridge appearing.

You sometimes get a road with water swilling over it rather than a bridge. Look closely and you may have that.

Ok, fiddled w the editor...

To make a ford over a Stream, you do need to make a road cross over... you cannot make a bridge over a Stream

However, you can make a river by using the water hex terrain, then to make a bridge jut make the road over the water hex and a bridge will appear, you can then slect ford and click on the bridge and will become a ford

so stream = ford, no bridge, water = bridge or ford

Thanks too.

Then, what about the "blocked" terrain ? I was not able to find a way that make this blocked terrain appear.

I think Max was being sarcastic :D I do tend to write in a convoluted style....

To the best of my knowledge I dont believe blocked terrain is currently active in the game....
What are you trying to represent in your scenario?
There is the impassible tile which units cant move into (but doesnt block line of site) Kind of looks like cliffs etc

I just tried to use it to see what it looks like. But I understand now that the "blocked" terrain type does not work yet.

On that occasion there was no sarcasm intended!

However, I think that 'blocked' terrain is not yet operational, as the only time I've tried to incorporate it in a scenario it definitely didn't block.
The obvious alternative in the meantime is 'impassable'.
So you could say that to cross impassable is impossible (but I don't think you would!)
