Teutonic Knights

Quick question for the army list book writers.

On the Teutonic lists the Serving Brother Xbow and Spear are marked with an asterix.

Does this mean that if you have any Serving Xbow you must have Serving spear? And vice versa

Or does it mean that you can have either zero bases or if you have any, it must be the minima marked (ie 6), and that the spear are irrelevant?

Yes you can have none at all or a minimum of 4 spearmen and 6 crossbowmen.
