Welcome Beta Testers

Post by IainMcNeil »

Welcome to all the beta testers. Anyone who pre-ordered will be able to take part in the beta test. Please post all your beta feedback in this forum or the development team wont be able to see it.

Will installing the beta on a separate drive (same OS) still cause problems with ongoing games?

Cheers,

You can have multiple copies running but not at the same time so it should be fine. The only issue is it may try to locate your original install so you'll have to override and steer the SoA patch to the new location.

This works fine. I have 'Live' running under C and Beta running under D. Each install sees the correct MP server.

Hi guys, i've downloaded and installed the beta in RoR directory.
The game works fine and i've tested a battle from two ADG army (two italian condottas: Papal vs Florentia), 700 points each.
The battle worked very fine, i not have any problem, the AI works better as the RoR version. :D
OK the los and the missile phase.

Great - if you can start looking through the different armies and checking it all appears as it shoudl that woudl be great. Feel free to start playing MP games as well - this could use some testing!

Hi guys!

Downloading and installing the beta in FoG directory (with ROR expansion) worked without a problem!

I played a battle during HYW between an English and French army (what else!) with 400 points each.

It was the first battle in this period, because of that its hard to compare the AI with the basic game and ROR expansion.

Once there was a freeze; where I had to save and load the saved game again!

But then it worked without a problem.

Thanks again for this expansion and beta test opportunity.

BR

Can you tell us more about the freeze? What exactly happened? Please start a new thread with the bug in so its easier to track.

How can I get a link to the Beta area to help out (I ordered Storm of Arrows back in March)?

I pre-ordered in March as well, but haven't received the email with the beta link. I'd really like to help out!

Make sure you authorise mail from slitherine.com. If the mails dont arrive there is not much we can do :(

Maybe mails are being filtered at the ISP level - it might be worth contacting them and asking?

Make sure you check the email address you pre-ordered with as this is where the mails are sent.

I'm not sure what to suggest at the moment. We'll have to look in to it once we have a few more examples of people that did not receive it and try and find a pattern.

It is not that simple unfortunately - they are generated by the server so we dont have the contents of the mail to send. I'm afraid you'll need to wait until the next beta update and we'll see if you can receive that one.
