Rear Charging Unit Auto Rotates After Impact

I was playing a game last night and one of my cavalry was charged in the rear by a Seleucid Elite Companion. My unit routed and the companion didn't follow, but immediately rotated to face the opposite direction

This was particularly annoying because I was going to charge it in the rear on my go... and all I had the option to do was to charge head on (I declined).

I really should've have taken the screenshots of the before, during and after, but stupidly I went on to make my move.

I don't know what more I can do to explain the 'bug' (IMO) but hopefully this helps.

Was the companion adjacent to any other of your BGs or your camp after your cavalry routed? An adjacent BG would keep it from pursuing but I'm not sure how "sticky" the camp would be in the same circumstance.

It was an adjacent BG, and I was quite pleased by the free facing.

Units charged in the rear that are not otherwise engaged will auto-face but you still get the rear attack combat benefits. Keith

I turned to face before the charge, so Morbio cancelled it.

It sounds like the companions turned to face the adjacent enemy BG after the broken BG had fled. I believe this is normal behavior.

Was there an adjacent BG? If there was, I missed it, hence this post.

If it happens again, then I'll screenshot the before, during and after positions. Let's consider this my mistake in observation unless it replicates itself.
