How to get DAG armies into scenario editor?

Post by Brigz »

I just can't figure this out. How do you get DAG armies and/or BG's to appear in the scenario editor? For an example, I want to create a scenario with the editor and use some Illyrian BG's, but they are nowhere to be found in the unit lists on the scenario editor.

The scenario editor is organised by images. So go to the editor, select units, place and then on clicking images you get a long list of different armies types and by clicking one of those the battle group images available are listed. Every image used in the DAG is listed. Keith

If I understood this right it works as follows:
- create DAG army
- note for every unit how it looks like and the attributes (protection, quality, name....) by pen and paper
- create new scenario
- search the available unit pics for those you need and change the attributes manually.

I consider this quite user-unfriendly. I'd appreciate any way of importing DAG armies. Would be great to test self constructed armies.

I guess I didn't understand the concept of the DAG. I see now that it is only useful to create random scenarios and has no direct relation to the Scenario editor. This is too bad. It would be great to be able to create an army and then port it directly to the Scenario editor. Of course this can be done by using the xml files and creating the BG's in the Scenario editor one BG at a time, but I have to agree, it is certainly not user-friendly. Don't get me wrong... this is a great game and I still like it very much. And the DAG is an excellent tool. I'm just dissapointed about the creative limitations of the DAG feature.

An even easier solution I see is to allow players to chose a specific user-created enemy army when playing DAG battles.
