Eliminating errored games

Post by jimcdaw »

Is there any way to delete games from the current list that generate an error when clicked on? The error says 'Sorry, an error occurred while getting the game instance. Network connection error (Code -1)'

We'll kill off any games without a turn update in March. Hopefully this wont spoil any live games as it means no turn updates for over 3 weeks!

But the connection error occurred in early March. My two corpses date from March 6th.

We'll do another sweep in a few weeks time. We dont have the reources to manually select games and kill them off so we need to do it in batches as there are literally thousands of them up there ~10,000 I think so far.

We're also going to add a way for you to kill them off from in game but the tricky part is working out the logic to stop people cheating and killing games they are losing compared to a game that is crashing and unplayable.

Perhaps a computerized email could be sent to the opponent asking him to recommence the game. If he carries on with the game, or if he agrees to the deletion and forfeit, all well and good. If he doesn't respond then after a certain time period the deletion and forfeit goes ahead anyway.

Eliminiation.

On the Hexwar site, if a game sits idle for more than 30 days, a player can claim victory. Something like that might be in order.

I still have two games listed under "my turn" that ended 7/3 due to the Network Connection Error (Code -1).
Would be nice to get rid of them somehow.
Also..have there been more of this error lately? Get that feeling when reading the forums.
