Just got back from an extended business trip and tried to install the latest patch 1.1.2.
I bought the initial game from Matrix, but bought RoR and have downloaded all of my patches from Slitherine, but I understand that for this patch, I have to download from Matrix?
Matrix's download link is broken. The in-game updater has NEVER worked, it says I need to contact Matrix.
Why was I not warned that I was purchasing a second-class version of the game from Matrix, in which the in-game update doesn't work, ever, and the patches are posted when and if Matrix gets around to it? This is really frustrating...
Matrix and Patches?

76mm,
Are you saying that you can't download the file or that you can download the file but the install procedure doesn't work?
If you can't download the file then that has nothing to do with your FoG programme. That would indicate that there is a problem with your computer settings or more specific, with your browser/anti-virus settings. Like I said, I downloaded the Matrix 1.1.2 patch several days ago and it installed with no problem. And I just tried to download the file again in the last hour from the Matrix link and it did download. Can't understand why it works for me but not for you.
About the Matrix vs the Slitherine 1.1.2 patch. Yes, I was concerned about this too before I applied the Matrix patch. I wrote a note on the Slitherine forum saying that I didn't understand why a different patch was needed if the Matrix and Slitherine game versions were identical. They replied that this was necessary because of the play-by-email routine and that they were working to fix this so that only one patch would be required in the future.

When I tried to download the Matrix patch, their link timed out...over and over and over again. Two minutes later I downloaded the Slitherine patch with no problem. I download stuff all the time with no problem, but the Matrix link did not work.
I know that the issue above has nothing to do with the FoG program. The FoG program, however, does include an "update" button (or something like that) on the initial screen. Every time I have ever tried to use it, it says "obtaining handle" or something, and then after about 5 minutes, it says I should contact Matrix.
