DAG Scores to Date

Just out of interest, I tallied my DAG results so far. I noticed that I do better in bigger games than in the low point matches. This may be partly because I've grown more used to the game - most of my low point games were fought soon after RoR was released, and because I have become more cunning in my choice of terrain and armies. But I thought I'd tally up so far and maybe others will post and see how they compare.

Interesting, I just began playing larger battles myself and have become enamoured with the Armenians. I too have been paying more attention to the terrain and making use of it, but I think that has been more to do with Army selection - after having my Later Macedonian powerhouse getting schooled by a ranged army!

Have not yet found a favourite army but mostly take parthian, roman, seleucid or carthaginian.
Played 21 DAG games so far:-

Parthian won 4, lost 1 & drew 1
Roman (mid or late rep) won 2 lost 2
Seleucid won 1 lost 2
Carthaginian won 2 drew 1
Others won 2 lost 3

The Others includes my 2 worst defeats. iversonjm whooped me on turn 5 using Bosporan (7/45) against my Suren Indo Parthans (45/39) and just lost to pantherboy after a more respectable 11 turns but just as bad a result. His Late Jewish army (29/120) running all over my Late Macedonians (94/81). This was my first 1000 point game played to conclusion.

My longest game was 19 turns & ended in a draw. Shortest the above mentioned 5 turns.

Wow, I realise that I'm not playing enough games concurrently to keep up with you guys

My limited results are as follows:

Pyrrhics (300): Played 1, won 1
Pyrrhics (400): Played 3, won 2
Seleucids (400): Played 4 won 4

I've a few others on the go, including my 1st 600 point game against Deeter (1st moves completed), and having looked at my opponents choice of troops and the battlefield, then I'm struggling to see how I will win it. But, it's early days so maybe something unexpected will occur... I just need to be ready to take advantage

I must admit I like playing multi-armed regular armies but I thought I'd give a few barbarian armies a go in recent battles. I was surprised how hardy those MF average illyrian are. I found that I could swarm all over elite romans and I could drive the parthians off the back of the battlefield

Like ianiow I've found the Illyrians to be a fun army that has some strengths (namely numbers) but feel every army list has possibilities if handled well. I've enjoyed playing battles from 400-1000 and don't mind what scale I play. To date I've finished 29 games of DAG.
