Thanks ! this was my second ever scenario (any game) first was Medway. Actually I used the Medway units mostly by copying the map - the same armies were present only a few days apart so it didnt feel to much like cheating. If you like a challenge try Medway, its harder and you do need to think about how to open the bridgeheads.

I am glad you lost once!, I designed these in an attempt to provide some sort of challenge against ai as both battles gave some chance to use the terrain to force the ai to do what you want it to.

Once again thanks for your kind words, if you would like to try either MP just send me a PM, I have never tried them MP. This one should be ok, I think Medway needs a brilliant Roman.

If they release some fortifications I will complete the set, caractus last stand at Cefn carnedd. I'd also like to do Vespasian assaulting maideun castle also. But both need fortifications.

Cheers

Neil

I only played this scenario because of the previous person's post and because I was waiting for some multiplayer action and I think this is awesome. I'd like to congratulate you on this, for three reasons:

1. The detail of the battlefield terrain is excellent. It really does look like a river at low water.
2. The detail of the units are also excellent. I found myself mousing over them to see something different and unique on each unit. By the end I was almost expecting to see the names of the individual troops as well as the names of all the leaders! :) I even like the nice touch of not having all the units at dull strength at the start of the battle! 8)
3. I actually had a tough game versus the AI and only just won as the Romans. Mind you, I think this was despite the AI not because of it! :P The AI tried its best to screw up a really good defensible position. I think if I played against a player as the Britons then I could hold that position for months :)

I'm tempted to play this scenario a couple of times more, which says a lot because I'd given up on playing the AI: once again as the Romans, but really trying hard this time to see if I can get a decisive victory rather than a close one, and once as the Britons.... although I think the Romans will all be floating down the Thames in short order!

Personally, I think this is the best setup scenario I have ever seen. If this doesn't make it into a future release I'd be amazed!

Thanks for the kind words! It makes me think about a new project!!!! Seriously though I would be interested in how you get on in Medway if you have some spare time, that was the one I put all the work into, this was just a spinoff. And I believe Medway will catch anyone out who doesnt think about what units to use and how fast to expand the bridghead. I spent alot of time trying to position the Brits to make them feed slowly into the battle. On one level of difficulty in Britons favour I struggle to win!

Good timing on these Britain battles. I just finished reading "The Roman Conquest of Britain" by Graham Webster and Donald R. Dudley. Mostly archaeologic material but gave me a good background for this campaign. Good work on the scenarios. Can't wait to get some time to try them out.
