Turn sent without doing it.

Post by pantherboy »

I'm doing a 1000pt battle with Peter Garnet and wasn't afforded an opportunity to do my turn. What happened was I started watching the replay of his turn but it still is in the early stages so I got bored and decided to stop the replay by closing and saving my turn. Then I would re-open and opt not to view the replay and do my turn. What happened was when I closed it the game sent my turn even though I hadn't ended it or even started it. If we close outside of replay then it saves and we can re-open at the same point but if you close during the replay the turn will be sent without your approval. I've just realized that this has happened to me before in other large games but in the early stages so I didn't care but this time we just contacted so a bit

Anyway we live and learn. So is this a bug or should we watch the replay all the way through? I only mention it as these bug battles can take time.

Cheers

Are you sure you quit and and did not end the turn through force of habit? Did you get the pop up asking you to write a message? If so you must have ended your turn - I've done it myself accidentally.

Obviously its a bug if you just selected close.

Your opponent should be able to send it back without moving if there is no combat going on.

We could add a warning message saying "You have 3/25 unmoved units. Are you sure you want to end your turn?".

Have had exactly the same experience in, I think, one of either the Tourney or League games. My opponent chivalrously did not move any of his BGs. At the time just thought I had been clumsy.

I too found this a couple of weeks ago. It was 2nd move (Trebia if I remember correctly) - Was watching the opening move of the Romans and the doorbell went. Closed replay and came back to find the turn ended! I just pm'd the opponent outside the game and he was decent enough to send the game back without moving.... we just lost a move, which didn't impact the result.

I'm glad to see the bug has been found and fixed. 8)

I thought I'd lost my mind - on my side I opened the move to find I had only moved a handful of units when I was sure I'd done the full move - I assumed I had maybe lost the internet connection when sending the move so just finished the move.
