1.1 patch problems

I tried to install the 1.1 patch. The patch says my serial number is invalid. I contacted Slitherine and got a new serial number. I the reinstalled FOG PC using the serial number provided and redownloaded the 1.1 patch. The patch still advises that the new serial number is invalid despite the main program accepting it.

Does Rise of Rome automatically upgrade to 1.1? Will it work with 1.03 or am I prevented from buying it?

Sorry you are having problems. Can you explain exactly what you did. Where did you get the original game from? What patches have you installed? What order did you install and did you upgrade to Rise of Rome?

All you need to do is install the original game then Rise of Rome (which is 1.1.0).

I bought the original game as a digital download from the Slitherine website. I applied the 1.03 patch without a problem and was playing most happily until last weekend when I was unable to install the 1.1 patch. I have refrained from buying Rise of Rome as yet for fear that it would not install either.

Can you mail your serial number to info@slitherine.co.uk and we will investigate.

Are you saying the new patch does nto accept your serial number? Are you sure you have the Slitherine patch - not the Matrix patch? The Matrix patch will nto accept a Slitherine serial. Go to the downloads on slitherine.com and try downloading our patch again to be sure you have the correct version.

Thanks ever so. I had the wrong patch as you suggested. I installed the Slitherine one and have updated my game successfully. I will now buy Rise of Rome, thanks again. I followed the link from the Wargamer to the Matrix site when I initially downloaded the patch. I note that neither the Wargamer or Gamespot mention there are different patches depending on how you purchased the original game in their articles on the patch.

Our patch will work with the Matrix version but their patch will not work with our version.
