Well you will be fine anyway as soon as the winter is over, doesn´t look like he can inflict to much damage on you eastern forces anyway. What is your oil production/turn.
Seem like he is concentrating his attack south, be carefull so he doesn´t trap your forward armour near Krivoy rog. Those reinforcements might come in handy....
When is the manpower replacement turning red, what number?
Have a nice trip by the way...

Replacement manpower still well over the 500, so no problems there... As to the Middle East, i am seriously considering retreating towards Palestine. The fact of the matter is that since i didnt attack too much on the eastern front and that Pangen is in no danger he can bring rienforcement rapidly and in great numbers. Right now, i cannot do that. So i think i will be rapidly be falling back towards Jerusalem, where he will be very far from his bases and crossing desert hexes. This is my only chance i think...
As for my oil production, i was at 70 something 3 turns ago and now i am over 200, so do i really need the Middle east? I dont even think i will be able to mount a 1943 offensive anyway in the east ive got to finish of the Americans...

Turn 63: Pullback in the Middle east
I might get some criticisism from some readers out there, but i feel this is a situation where i have to pull back and regroup to an area where Pangen numeriorical advantage will be negated by the fact that we should be fighting in a narrow 3-hexes corridor. I am taking this decicion for the following reasons:
1- It is a clear fact that the russians have too many troops in the theater for me to hope to overwhelm them , outflank them or get into a war of attrition
2- If i loose my african fighting force, there are no more coming for a while, i need my troops fo the Russia front and my PP to repair my north american army-airforce
3- The oil production isnt so bad, we are now at 245 and should be close to over 300 when spring hits.
4- If i play this right, Pangen will get into a pursuit and advances into desert and desert hills hexes, thus decreasing his effectiveness and the troops should be easy to destroy.
5- I cannot support a major war of attrition and oil burning on the 3 theaters f operations i have. There are no quick end to this Irak adventure, so i accept this reality

No criticism here. You still have Ploesti, the German facilities, your off-map production, and the USA oil fields. I think that is enough for you to do everything you want to do for the rest of the war fairly comfortably. I don't think you need a drop from the Middle East, and I think PanzerGeneral is wasting his forces sending such a large force down there.

You are right about those tanks in the middle east, they would do serious damage on the russian front. If he can´t get a decisive battle during this winter, witch i can´t possibly see how he could, you will roll right over him. His infantry line is thin, two ore more breakthroughs when summer comes and total collaps in the russian defense.
Hopefully you can get those troops from the states over to help out before next winter.

Turn 65: Washington falls to Axis powers

The capital city of the United States, Washignton DC, has fallen. Roosevelt is also under arrest. General Marshall is on the run, and Patton has already taken one of the last ship out of Virginia and South carolina, his plans are to go in Russia to continue the fight. American resistance has collapsed all over the world. Japanese element have been seen of the coast of Los Angeles and are rumored to land soon. The war in the pacific hasnt been going well for the USA either...
Is was not a hard battle, surprisingly... My high-effectiveness planes , with close support lvl 4 or 5 i dont remember, were able to inflict 4 steps of damage on the poor little infantry, while the 3 motorized, with close to lvl 13, were able to storm the place clean.

Von Paulus has not started the evacuation of north america'S air force and elite units. Some will stay behind to garrison the important cities, but already the transfer should occur quite rapidly. All of it is bound for the eastern front.
It is still unclear how we are going to manage the oil situation, but the german high-command think that it will manage. If we were able to conquer north america, then world domination is within the german's grasp. Germany's twentieth century destiny is being fulfilled.
Battle continue to rage in Russia. Pangen has produced an unbelievable number of planes, but in the nd it will be to his detriment, once i start to overwhelm his lines. Here are my proposed axis of attacks:

In The Middle East, the situation continues to deteriorates. I expect to stop the Russian in 2 turns when i will get my infantry-wall of 2 units per hex. The aircover i have there should suffice as well to defend the place for the rest pf the game, since i am not planning any forceful return in the Middle east for the moment, i am content with Pangen leaving his very crucial troops in this non-important theater.

Re: Turn 65: Washington falls to Axis powers
Congratulations on the conquest of the USA.
So I take it that you're not going to go on and stay on the defensive in Russia and hold on for your Ultimate Victory. Of course, I know your answer to that.
It'll be interesting to see if you can conquer Russia. I predict a bloody campaign.
I'm curious if there is a need to garrison the USA. The only reason I could think of now is to defend against partisans. However; with both the US and UK gone I wonder if partisans are still a threat. I guess we'll find out.supermax wrote:Von Paulus has not started the evacuation of north america'S air force and elite units. Thanks Ronnie for the congrats
Well, i am also wondering what will happen with partisans and the russian convoys, or even what will happen at the convoy phase?
As to defense in Russia, the is no way in hell i am not going to try to destroy the Russians. I am fairly confident that Moscow is within my grasp, but Omsk, i dont know... Pangen has so many planes right now that it may be difficult to achieve.
But, nevertheless, it is my ultimate goal.
Now, with the soon to happen transfer of Luftwaffe north america to Europe, i will be able to bolster my 1943 offensive with 4 excellent TAC, 3 fighters and 1 STRAT, + 2 MOT and 1 AMR among others. This will all be transferred on the main front, in Russia. I will not be speding any oil except minimal needs all the way down to may to have sufficnent of it not to be stopped by. I produced another tank and a MOT last turn, which ill be sent to the Kiev-Smolensk Area for the upcoming 1943 offensive...

I can't imagine the convoys continuing. It would be a major error that would have to corrected in future updates to the game.supermax wrote:Thanks Ronnie for the congrats

This continues to be a fascinating game, especially since you have to contend with partisans forming in Canada and the USA without the ability to rail around to quickly contain them with a minimum amount of manpower.

Well, i will leave all the GAR and most INF i North America just o be sure there are no damned partisans.
I will also send my 1 step DD to check if there are still russian convoys. If there are, i will simply produce say 3 subs and they will never be able to reach russia.
The war on all fronts, 1943...
The world war continues to be waged on all fronts, while millions of men are dying. most of the world is now under axis control.
North-East America is under the Nazi boot, except for western USA, where the Jananese forces landed in and around Los Angleles, Portland, Seattles and Alaska, amidst a definite collapse in american resistance and will to fight . England and canada are also occupied, totally for England and partially for Canada, the germano-italian forces still advancing thru Ontario'S thick forests near Thunderbay.
France is gone, Gibraltar occupied, but Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Greece, Yougoslavia, Vichy france, Switzerland, Turkey among others have all been able to stay out of the war, amidst intense pressures from Ribbentrop's german foreign war office. Churchill is still in flight somewhere in Canada, as PAtton is somewhere in the south Atlantic, trying to rejoin Russia. Roosevelt and Mackenzie King have decided to collaborate with the occupying power, like Petain in france.
WESTERN AMERICA FRONT AND PACIFIC:
Top secret pictures of japanese IJN forces landing in Hawaii. The fighting was intense for the most part of 1942, and General Yamashita'S forces were finally able to occupy Pearl Harbor and most island, except for the Big Islands, where the americans still resist.

Japaneses forces organizing their forces near Los-Angeles. They were able to occupy the region easily since american forces were scattered and disorganized following the fall of the central govenment. The troops are simpy deserting...

The Japanese are still trying to make a bid for China, but continue to be checked by Mao and Tchiang Kai Chek forces. Here a picture of the japs seen organizing another attack in Sinkiang province

ATLANTIC , CANADIAN, BRITISH AND MED FRONTS
Pic of the new defensive battery at Gibraltar, build by the Krupp factory of Essen. Formidable canon designed to interdict the most powerful fleet. Designed to bully franco into the war, it has yet to bear fruits...

Ruins of a New York Subburbs. The fighting was intense for the big apple. The americans put everything they had into the fight...

London is under NAzi rule and has been so since 1940, after a bold and successeful Sealion operation by the germans. A puppet government has yet to be organized, the british populace still being very agressive towards the german occupant

The war continues to be fought in the fertile crescent. Following a major russian intervention to save the oilfield from Axis occupation, the Soviet forces were able to make Von Blaskowitz forces retreat from Bagdad almost back to Jerusalem. Here in the pic some german platoon organizing a defensive position near the heights of some desert hills

Hard-pressed german forces were forced to retreat a long way from Bagdad to Jesusalem. The machines are in awful condition

Panzerarmee africa can count on solid tank formations that represent the core of the desert force. There is still hope that Blaskowitz can reach Bagdad!

OSTFRONT
The front has become fluid again. Here shown are some motorcycle recon elements in the general area of Gomel, where the grmans are trying to breaktrough

German troops on the march over the Dniepr and into the Russian Hinterland... Winter clothing is, at least compared to previous year, in aboundance for the troops...

Ruins of Gomel, where Germans and Soviets still slug it out

The Wermarcht was able to cross the Dniepr in the Kiev area thanks to multiple pontoon bridge built by the brave pioner of the german army. Here shown is one of the most important one, near the completly destroyed main bridge in and out if Kiev

German forces building some defensive position near Lake Ladoga, a quiet sector of the Gigantic front

More picture of troops crossing the Dnieper north of Kiev

It will be a long war, a VERY LONG WAR against not only the Soviets, but General winter and the immensity of the steppes...

But the german forces will prevail. Here they are seen jumping over a defensive position nar Gomel where imoprtant soviet forces were oblitarated...

The war in FINLAND is one of static positions... Seen here is a brave finish soldier trying to go for a recon mission over the damend soviet lines...

German high-command is rushing all available ressources to bolster and reinforce the army central offensive. We will send everything we have in the cauldron and exhaust the Russians...

Very serious and furious battles going on over the Dniepr, wre the ebb and flow of war claims a lot of lives!

congratulations on your game, it's been a great read. But how come you don't snap up some easy PP's from Denmark, Yugoslavia & Greece , even Norway ? In your place I would also be tempted to attack Turkey, you could attack from Syria, and take it in, four or five turns. You've already got the forces in Syria to do it.
Plus he would probably send some Russians to help the Turks, and dilute his main front even more. (you'd have to check first , whether he could rail into Turkey, if he can do that, then it's a bad idea).
I find that having Turkey, opens up the Russians soft underbelly, you can rail all around the mid east, threaten his caususes PP's, and it's an absolute pig for him to attack Turkey from the east.

Hey Timhicks
First thanks for the congrats!
I totally agree with you, it has been on my mind for a while now... I currently have over 200pp of revenue, and my problem is oil.
So i want to do all the above-mentionned, but once i got the Infantry to do it, or maybee next winter. The fact of the matter is, even if it is not blatant right now, i am operating on a very think line of ice in Russia at the moment, being severely outmatched in air superiority. This means lots of infantry and tank casualities, and LOTs of air as well... So i need to push Pangen as hard as possible and not dilute my offensive power in the process. But once ive got the troops, i will certainly go for Denmark and Greece. I probably will go around Yougosvalia its too much of a partisan hassle. Spain has also been on my mind lately...
ahhh so much to do, so many places to attack!!! All will depends on the result of the 1943 offensive. If i am in moscow before the winter hits, i shall play a little with the map and conquers several spots. But if not, i may overlook any leftover neutral countries...
I am questionning myself: Do i need more than 200pp a turn? It seems like a stupid question, but, really, once ive got a double offensive line of attack in Russia, what else can i get? If i produce too many air units, they will be grounded because i dont have enough oil... Any toughts outhere?

Prolong to supermax's detriment, I would think. The limiting factors for German victory in my experience tend to be manpower and oil, not PPs. The only reason to go after minor powers is more PPs, and those cost both manpower and oil to conquer.BuddyGrant wrote:FWIW I don't think you should bother with attacking these minor countries you have missed unless you need to do it to win the game.
