order of the rules - census of opinion

Post by shall »

We would like to use the forum to gather general thoughts on topics at times so here's a starter one. Thorsten mention that he found it a little awkward reading about impact before movement. Could we get a general census on this...is it easier

1. If the rules follow the move sequence and start with IMPACT
2. If the rules start with movement so you see how to move troops first and introduce the sequence thereafter

Cheers

I found it a little weird at first because it does not follow the traditional approach in rules and it is not the first thing that you do in the game. Movement is the first phase you really get to. However when you get into the game, it is very useful to have a rules layout which mimicks the turn sequence.

Six of one and half a dozen of the other.

Hello all

In game terms Impact is going to happen after Movement. I would suggest Movement, Shooting, Impact then Melee.

In rule terms I would very strongly urge that a good glossary should come first. Get all of the terms defined properly and, as far as possible, in one section.

Cheers

Thanks Steve,

The Glossary is developing and much more substantive in version 2. Perhaps you could give us some guidance on that once you read the new one. I imagine there is more one could do with it still.

Hi Simon

I am very much looking forward to seeing v2 and will be very pleased to throw in my tuppenceworth on the glossary. Tell me if I try to make it sound too much like a company sale and purchase agreement though!

Regards

Stephen
