BBC Beta v0.2 feedback

Post by lordzimoa »

- Install no problems, tutorial and first mission tips are much better now.
- I can login into server in skirmish, but when I try to issue a challenge I just see empty green menu screen.
- Still some GBM icons(yes/cancel) in there when exiting a mission.
- I think we still miss some infantry animations.

+ the issue screen lists any outstanding challenges you have made. To create a new one use the button bottom left?
+ You'll need to be more specific about what you mean about infantry animations.

Cheers

>>Aye than I get a green menu screen, I suppose to select a scenario and write a comment with another issue challenge button buttom left. But no scenario list, I only see an empty green menu list.

+You'll need to be more specific about what you mean about infantry animations.
>>Sorry not in the actual scenario`s in this beta version, but going through the data I think British para has no animations.

First test shows the same green screen as is does with Tim. I do not seem to be able to issue, see or play any multyplayer games.

Somehow the installer got built without any Multiplayer campaigns in it. Not sure how! I will put up a quick zip to drop into the install dir.

Sorry for the mistake. You drop this dir into the game install directory.

Cheers

We started a MP game, all seems to work. But it would help if there was also some small briefings prior to the MP scenario`s. We both had no idea what the goal was, defending attacking, objectives, victory pionts... no idea what we both should do.

We just started to move around till we made contact.

I think a small briefing would help a lot to give the MP scenario`s some direction.

- Love the ability to rotate the camera's via q and e
- Ui is definetly more clear now, really like the cover ratio
- I still do not see a turncount?
- I like that you can't move through destroyed heavier units, but why can you fire through them?
- I have had a few times that I was ambushed from a bunker and my units could not locate the enemy, this does not seem very plausible to me.
- More to come.

Overal I think this game has had some great improvements.

- You can move through destroyed units, it just makes the move more expensive. You can also explicitly remove them if you want to clear a path for another unit.
- Ambushes could come from anywhere. If there is a bunker with no cover then you the player may well conclude it is from there, but what about a bunker with cover next to it? The ambush could come from either.

Cheers

Basically the same as has been mentioned re the multiplayer
-need some sort of briefing, intel, is it a meeting engagement, defence, assault etc.
-still looking for a turn counter
-should not have to log on everytime (don't have to in FOG, once your log in data is entered it retains it)

re scenario's
-still some with no briefing
-please add more to the desert campaign
-still no turn counter

like the fact that you can't automatically see a hidden enemy even if they have fired on you

All good feedback - keep it coming!

The MP scenarios are very early at the moment, we got it to you guys as early as possible to get feedback on the system etc (although it is obviously v similar to FoG).

Other campaigns you are only seeing a few missions at the moment; as we bring others up to content complete then they will be added in beta updates.

Thanks

Pip
