Flank March point for tournament
If at the end of a game a flank march does not turn up do you get any attrition point for them being lost?
As in the rule book it is unclear, but a straggling unit is are assumed to be held up and do not take part in the battle, unit does not turn up, it’s held up and does not take part in the battle.

I don't think that there is anything unclear:
To be straggling, a BG must have failed the straggling test, which won't be the case as long as your flank march didn't arrive.
Counting them as straggling would cause another problem also:
If a player has 10 BGs, two of which are on flank march that did not yet arrive, what happens if he lost 8 Attritionpoints?
He would have lost the game, because his flank march counts as permanent attrition loss until it arrives. I don't think that this makes to much sense.

Hi Leslie
I voted for 0 as the fact my great shiny knights didn't manage to find their way to the battlefield in time to turn defeat into victory was punishment enough.
I think the ribbing from fellow gamers at the event and my club over my stupidity in sending knights on a flank march will sit with me for some time.

No failing the stragling roll is what constitutes stragling. If you haven't had to roll then you are still a potential stragler but until you open the box you don't knwo if the cat is dead.LeslieMitchell wrote:I agree that 0 is prob. the right answer, however not turning up to a battle is consided to be straggling, so not turning up is staggling.

The cat only needs to lie down, then it will live.hammy wrote:No failing the stragling roll is what constitutes stragling. If you haven't had to roll then you are still a potential stragler but until you open the box you don't knwo if the cat is dead.

Yes, but arrival is not optional. And if the 3 BGs on the table have been destroyed, the players can just roll dice each turn until one of the flank marches arrives. No need for the other player to waste time moving troops if he does not choose to do so, so it should not take long.Lycanthropic wrote:So a 9 BG army that double flank marches and doesn't bother to arrive is unbreakable?

And after routing the 3 and taking the camp the opponent only needs one of the 6 flank marchers to fail the straggling test for the extra 5pt total win.rbodleyscott wrote:Yes, but arrival is not optional.
