Loading single player saved games into Multiplayer

I've been playing against the AI, and I'd like to load one of the saves from that game into multiplayer , so that I can see the AI's pp's, labs ect. But every time I try to load the save game into either Hotseat or PBEM, I get the message "Exception - this game was saved in a previous version of the game and cannot be loaded".

I've read in this forum that this message can appear if you've tampered with a save file in multiplayer, but this particular scenario is not mentioned anywhere.

I'm playing GS latest version, the save file was created in GS just a few minutes before the attempted load.

has anyone else tried this ?

Only, by mistake, and I got the same message as you.

Hi,
You can not open an AI saved game as a PBEM, TcPIP, or HotSeat. You can not mix the games types (AI, PBEM, TcPIP, HotSeat). The format of the data file is different between them. I t would be nice if you could start a HotSeat and then move to PBEM or TcPIP game, but unfortunately you can not.
