Game frozen - "cannot accept an order at this time"

Hi
I am part-way through the Lyginus River scenario (I'm sorry to say on turn 7 and I have not yet won as Macedon).
It is the start of the Macedon turn and the game will not allow me to give orders to any of my troops, When I tried to 'end turn' in an effort to get it to un-freeze, I expected it to say 'cannot end turn - xxx must fight', but it gave the 'are you sure' dialog, then did nothing when I clicked Yes.

I can jump around the map, open the menu, etc, but it looks like I will have to abandon the scenario and try again from the start.

Any idea what might be the cause? Has anyone reported a similar problem?

I had this case during battles, when I gave very fast orders in short time to a unit during action of other unit (move of fighting). But just after end of moving or fighting, the order were awailable again. Perhaps, youy technical problems may come from a disfunctionnement of this syteme.

You might try saving the game and re-loading it. I think I've run into this and this is what fixed it.

OK, thanks, both - I will try to be more patient and not switch around too fast, just in case, and I will also remember the save-and-restart trick if it happens again.

We are looking at the reports of the game freezing but are so far unable to replicate. Keith

Hi,

I've just experienced a similar problem in my multiplayer game. The scenario is Scirthaea, turn 8. I've just done my moves, units have rallied and routed items moved. It has taken me back into the game (no chance to write a message to my opponent) and when I try to end the round (again) using the 'end turn' button (top left of screen) it presents a dialogue box that says: "Sorry, could not give an order. A player that is only observing the game tried to give an order." I now can't quit or do anything!

Any suggestions?

OK, I've just closed the game (via the menu option) and on doing so, it has presented me with the chat box and, once completed, it has sent the game to my opponent.

Wierd!
