Could someone also sticky this posting.
Due to a variety of adverse conditions the site will be up in a couple of days. For those who are in a hurry here are the first pieces of info.
We are really sorry for the delay and expect you all to come and play in Athens

VENUE
The ‘Apollo Exhibition Centre’ is located at Ermoupoleos & Piliou 1 streets. This 19th cent. building, originally a rice mill, is situated right next to Peiraios Av. which is constructed along the ‘Athenian Long Walls’ and connects Athens to its major port, Peiraias.
The venue is very close to the Peiraias city centre within easy reach of accommodation, bars and restaurants which cater for all tastes.
For those interested in revisiting their 2006 places of interest the trip is easily covered by bus, tram and the Athens electric train just 15 minutes from Omonoia sq. (Centre of Athens)
The Karaiskaki Electric Train station is 500m from the venue and is next to the same named football stadium of Olympiakos.

Brits in athens
Is BHGS organising entry or do we apply directly? The BHGS site seems to be dying (last updated 26/11, and half of that was already out of date).

Re: Brits in athens
Athens is pretty easy to get to, I think BHGS only sort things out for Australia/RSA etcazrael86 wrote:Is BHGS organising entry or do we apply directly? The BHGS site seems to be dying (last updated 26/11, and half of that was already out of date).
The biggest decision seems to be stay in Piraeus port or in downtown Athens really.

I was asking about the entry process, not booking travel. I'm sure previous comps have gone through BHGS not direct (I guess to help the organisers?)madaxeman wrote:Athens is pretty easy to get to, I think BHGS only sort things out for Australia/RSA etcazrael86 wrote:Is BHGS organising entry or do we apply directly? The BHGS will be providing an entry form for those wishing to go,there isn't much available on the Athens website to provide prices etc,we will also offer the BHGS t-shirts again although someone will need to volunteer to take them out as Lynda and I are unable to go this year or I could bring them to the Challenge,
For those wanting to plan even further ahead see here www.iwf2011.org
We will be going to that one

Probably 4 or 5 from us going (not counting the DBx players as I've no idea on their plans), certainly my flight is already booked.madaxeman wrote:anyone from across the pond (or elsewhere in Europe for that matter) going?
