Test Post - Photo of Athenian Hoplites

Post by shadowdragon »

Hi All

I've been thinking of posting some AAR since I've enjoyed other's AAR - edited because I re-filed the photo.

Image

The figures are Xyston including the Spartans lurking in the background.

http://www.xyston.com/

...and the shield patterns are from Luke Ueda-Sarson's website

Extra photo...recently completed peltasts on their way to a classical Greek vs. Perisan bash.

Image

Two AAR for War of the Roses already posted. Will do the 3rd "real soon now" and the Greek-Persian party.

Cheers

Paul

Very nice work!

I for one will look forward to your AAR's, whatever armies they are.

Yes, I will be looking for that AAR too! Very nice pictures, by the way. It will be great to see and AAR with the hoplites: they are not so common over here.

Thanks everyone.

This post is partly my way of giving me that extra push to get it done. Unfortunately, there's something coming along called the Vancouver Winter Olympics that's consuming my life.

Code: Select all

and AAR with the hoplites: they are not so common over here
Yeah, armoured, offensive spears are a real liability - so little 'bang for the buck". :D

Very nice!

Although I'm amused by the guy in the yellow cloak, front rank, second one in from the right edge of the picture. For some reason he looks to me like a Ancient Greek superhero wearing his high-visibility underpants ;)

Heh-heh. He does. Well, as the BIG MAN it's either being a 28mm figure amongst 15mm figures...or rather 15mm plus these being Xyston figures...or imagining himself as a superhero in underpants.

Then, of course, there's his Darth Vader wannabee bodyguard too!
