Cannot place reinforcements bug?
My PBEM opponent in a GS game reports a bug that he is not able to place reinforcements (game has gone into 1941, so it worked earlier) - I never had any problems. Any idea how to fix this?

It was me..
Yes, I did have Axis units in VICHY France when (after many months) France fell. And then I could not place ANY new units in Germany after they were eligible. I suppose this cannot be fixed at this time, unless you folks know different.

This is a vanilla game bug and we fixed it in GS v1.01. You have to install the v1.01 patch and replay the game from the time just before Paris fell.
The reason for the bug is that the Axis units within Vichy France will go to the force pool instead of being eliminated so they can be placed as reinforcements. But the code checked for the owner of the hex and not the owner of the unit when placing the units. So if e. g. a German unit had moved into a hex captured by Italy it would be placed in the Italian force pool. Units from the Italian force pool can only be placed in Italian cities and German units are expected to the placed in German cities. That means you can't place the unit at all.
I changed the code so it will check the unit owner instead of the hex owner, but you need GS v1.01 to have this fixed.
There is another bug we fixed about Syria not surrendering properly that will be released in GS v1.02.
I'm not sure when GS v1.02 will be released, but you and your opponent send a PM to either Ronnie or me with your email addresses then we can send you these patch files.
