Passworded challenges

Post by batesmotel »

These days it appears that most of the multi-player challenges listed at any given time have passwords, out of curiosity, are most of these posted after already agreeing with a friend or potential opponent to play each other for this specific scenario? Alternatively, are the challengers expecting potential opponents to contact them to get the password as a way to allow them to screen opponents? If the latter, are PMs on the forum the normal mechanism? I'm relatively new to on-line gaming of this sort so not sure which way the passwords are being used. Other than the tournament games I've played so far, I haven't used passwords on my challenges so am curious how others are using them.

I suspect some of those are round 2 of the tournament waiting to go!

That's probably true but it obviously doesn't include any of the non starter army scenarios.

Aside from setting up for round 2 of the tourney my guess it was a new toy that a bunch of guys couldn't wait to use, and now they just sit there taking up space since no one can access the challenges. I still put out open challenges when I decide to post them, seems a lot friendlier and I enjoy playing against new opponents.
