With apologies to Monty Python, I think the problem with Jewish Revolt is we don't really have much of an idea what the "troops" would have looked like.fredrik wrote: A brilliant suggesstion! "I thought we were the Popular Front?"

Well why don't you have an educated guess, some with big noses, some naked with long beards, some women with beards, etc, and set the industry standard.khurasan_miniatures wrote: With apologies to Monty Python, I think the problem with Jewish Revolt is we don't really have much of an idea what the "troops" would have looked like.

All you need is one BG each of PFJ (ppl), PFJ (pop), JPF, PFFFG, a single base of PF (Popular Front) and some Mob for a starter army. Obviously a TC as CinC and 8 allied generals, none of them in line of command for any BG.khurasan_miniatures Re: Jewish Revolt wrote:I'll get right on that Phil!
But when you do a sensible WotR army we do need an Edmund LORD Blackadder, Percy Percy and some peasants, call them Baldricks, and a lot of cats for the camp diorama.

I voted for Iroquois (only if they are not French-Indian War era), but I'd be happy with almost ANY Native Americans:
Apache and Lakota-Souix would be cool too!
I'm just tired of gun-powder era versions of these models: give me more war clubs, bows and spears! I'd even love some post-Columbian Exchange and see some mounted versions of these tribes. Bring on the Native Indians from 1500-1700!

Agreed! The Chichimecs are already poised for a couple of cavalry poses as soon as FOGR is out.eldiablito wrote:I'm just tired of gun-powder era versions of these models: give me more war clubs, bows and spears! Thanks for your help gents, I have formally approached the sculptor to make the Iroquois. Of course, the advantage of making Yayoi would have been that, if asked politely, Duncan would likely have provided amazing model references (as he did for the kofun/Nara), but the army itself seems to leave a bit to be desired. A friend finally prevailed on me not to make Mochica because of its one dimensional feel, so eastern forest culture it is! I thought momentarily about Algonquins as that's where I live, but the Iroquois, who were to the north, used that picturesque wooden armour (Algonguins used very large shields instead), and more to the point the Iroquois raised large armies.
So the sculptor will start making them next month!
