Multi-Player challenges.

When you are on the Challenge screen some of the challenges are private with the padlock and some are open. What are the differences? Are the padlocked ones for a particular person to accept? Like if I wanted a friend of mine to play me and no one else....

correct. You must have the password. You could start an open game and anyone could join.
