Hi Max, that´s ok. I will email you as soon as possible.
Supermax, I'd be very interested in getting your Fall of France stats for both games (this and the one you're about to start with Leridano). The stats I need are:

German & Italian losses (if any). Infantry, Armor, Air and Naval.

British losses (excluding Polish and other minor country losses. If you have to estimate that's ok): Infantry, Armor, Air and Naval.

Fall data for France and whether or not you attack Belgium in fair weather (S = seitzkrieg -> yes or B = blitzkrieg -> no).

Turn 12: SEALION!

Post by supermax »

Yes, i know, its early and totally reckless for the german player, but as i said this is the way to win this game with the Axis. You have a great quantitative advantage early in the game, and this especially in the MOD. I still cannot believe how strong the germans are at the beggining of the game, the allies have no serious chance of stopping an agressive axis player...

So we destroyed another BB last turn as well as bombing some units on the ground. The transport are on the sea and ready to land next turn. The british will need 9 troops to cover all hexes needed.

From Panzergeneral defensive positionning, i can se that he has had good advice from other players. I wonder why no one give me any advice so far? :)

How many PP's do you have to spend per turn in overuse of the transport capacity?

It seems Panzergeneral won't stand a chance because he's losing way too many naval units. I wonder why he didn't put his air units on sentry duty. This way they will be too depleted even before the invasion begins.

PS: The German King has the name: Friedrich der Große
Please notice that the letter ß is NOT a B, but the German way of writing a double s. So you could write Friedrich der Grosse. That means Friedrich the Great.

Thanks for the heads up on the Grobe being Grosse.

As to PP per turn, i do not know nor care, only the end is important and with this kind of investment, i will make sure i get ashore. One cannot go with half measure with sealion... IF i get ashore next turn, it will all be over by july and the rest of the battle will just be mopping up.

Why would anyone give you advice when it's clear that you don't need it? Besides, I think we're all rooting for the underdog a little bit. :)

I just spent the entire afternoon and evening immersed in the thrilling world of evidence and federal income tax law. My brain cells are dying faster than the Germans on the eastern front!

The Wermarcht land successeflly in Britain!

Post by supermax »

May 18, 1940. Britain is now invaded by the german forces... Was able to land in the southern part of the countr, after drawin most british forces in the north with a feint landing.

I destroyed 2 garrison in the process and out-supplyed the british corps HQ as well. This one isnt near coming back into supply except if Panzergeneral decide to sacrifice a BB or 2... I can now see 2 of them in the theatre, confirming to me hathe transferred 2 BB at least from the MED. I hope he didnt transfert the CV..

Speaking of CV, the Graf Zeppelin is nearing completion, onl 2-3 turns away. I CANNOT wait to get this CV, its th irst time i ever build one with the germans except in 1945 games wher the Russian had surrendered. Its going to be exciting slugging it out in the Atlantic...

Yes, grob means something like rude or crass or uncouth or raw. The esszett (literally "S Z") is a funny thing - I thought for a long time that Congress was Congrefs based on the manuscripts for the US Constitution and Declaration of Independence.

German widen landing zone, destroy MOT and SUB

Post by supermax »

Feeble british counter-attack completely destroyed.

The allies cannot hope to win i have 4 TAC in the area and they do on average 2-3 steps damage per attack... Now have a tank and another corps on the Islands, this should big enough of a force to conquer the whole place.

Still, you're spending a lot of time and London is not yet captured. Taking out the British cities in Scotland will be tough because the poor weather will arrive soon. What will you do about Barbarossa? Do you still plan a June 1941 offensive or do you sacrifice Barbarossa to finish off Britain, go for Spain and Egypt? Even you can do all and be fully prepared for Barbarossa. :)

Britain can be finished in its own time, i can take the whole of 1940 to finishit off, the british are going to be in no position to do anything about it. And if they decide to get stubborn, then my little Americn opetation will just be more feasible. We are only june 1940. That leaves me 20+ turns to builds units for Barbarossa... Once London falls, there isnt much the English can do, in term of revenue and offensive capability. My revenue will also be increased by all those nice PP from England.

I will have a strong barbarossa i can promess you that. I seem to have a light army at the moment, thats because i heavily invested in research, i almost have 9 or 10 pts invested. Ive done it agaisnt Joerock in a previous game and my Barbarossa attack was quite heavy

I will start building land units for Barbarossa next turn and i promess it will bea tough time for the Russians as well...

Like i said, i can do a slow campaign in Spain and England with limited forces since the british are not going tobe able to send any reinforcement there. I think its quite doable...

Of course it will affect Bararossa, but as i will show my planinng in the next few turn for the destruction of Stalin's empire, i should not be strategically affected appart from my rapidly worsening oil situation.

In my first GS game i tried to have 2 strong thrust, one in the center and one in the plains to the south. Ive learned from this that its quite easy to stop any offensive from the center because of the rivers. Its quite another thing to do in the south. So i will have an incredibly strong south push that will have the objective of rolling up the whole defensive line that i am expecting, and launch my force northward afer that all the way up from Kharkov. The 41 objectives will be a continous line from Rostov to Tula, disregarding the northern cities of Novgorod, Leningrad and Riga.

Anyway on Hitler's map this is the way it looks right now. Total megalomania!

Playing against you is not relaxing! Sorry, but no turn tonight either. I'm afraid I've partaken in a little too much wine this evening and my play would reflect that. :D

June 27, 1940: London falls, british forces in dissaray!

Post by supermax »

As the title says, the british capital fell last turn. The germans destroyed 2 more garrison and seriously degraded another one.

As said in the pic, we are now facing a perfect scenario, that is a stubborn strategist that refuses to see that the defeat is inevitable UNDER the Axis air umbrella.. Sure he is making me expand oil and ressources(this will for sure come back to haunt me later), but he is seriously degrading his capability to retake England or even the possibility to re-set foot into Europe before 1945... And he doenst realize that he is serving me a golden oppotunity on a plate. So i think that as a whole it is worth it to expand all this oil. I am buying total peace for the western front for at least 41, 42, 43 and almost certainly 44. I'll just ahve to build a Motorized / INF army to tackle Stalin's hordes.

Also Panzergeneral made a big mistake in leaving his naval units in ports so close to the german offensive. I moved my naval assets into position to block them from making any type of sorties into the open sea, so when i take the ports the DD and BB stationned there will be destroyed.

This is the kind of things that happens when you get too caught up in the heat of battle... Anyway, i will make sure i take full advantage of this.

Allowing the RN to get trapped in port is the death nail for PanzerGeneral. There's no doubt that you will achieve an Ultimate Axis victory. This is the highest level of victory and requires the axis to hold at game's end four or more of the following capitals: London, Washington, Paris, Moscow, Rome, Berlin.

Assuming PanzerGeneral doesn't concede what next? Are you still planning your invasion of North America? Are you going for a knock out of Russia?

Well, i want to go for all the capitals, ALL of them. I've never pulled that out and i fully intend to try. My strategic position right now is just too good to be true so i will take full advantage of it...

I believe i can have a pretty good go at North America. Once i get control of the Halifax area i should be able to prepare and mount a decent offensive in the North-eastern United States. So in my dreams i would like to have a late 1941 summer/fall offensive against the USA, attacking before they get into the war, thus getting the Blitzkrieg bonus and taking out the ressources in the north and Portland in the first turn punch.

I will ultimatly knock out the Russians, but i foresee this probably more for 1944 or 1945, because since last turn, i want to prepare a very nice invasion and this will cost me oil, ressources and time... So once i get the upper hand in England (4-5 turns), i will embark for North America, expected landing in spring of 1941 at the same time as Barbarossa(stillon schedule for may-june 1941). I dont think they will stand a chance if i can muster the might of all the ressources of Europe just on them.

I hope Panzergeneral wont concede i have never been able to go that far into my megalomania :)

Panzergeneral is not a quitter, but a good fighter so I think and hope he will solider on!

Will certainly be interesting to see how your Axis wet dreams (German CV!) pan out, I don't think it will be so plain sailing all the way to Washington. Furthermore the Russians will be irate and can you get your hands on some oil in time, that is the question.
