new topic for the İndians?
Hi guys!
İs it possible to collect all this infos about indians in a new topic?
Because for the ones who doesn't own the rule book, like me, these are very helpful!
Thanks

I have looked through the latest files - mostly 3/12/2009? - but can find no changes/additions to those that I DL'd on 30/11/2009. To be fair, I haven't read every single word but I have scanned then quite closely and they appear identical to the ones I already have. Also, neither the Battles or Armies list have been updated to include the new units (Indian) and scenarios. Or have I missed something?iainmcneil wrote:Quite a lot unfortunately
Look in the help folder in the game install path and look for files with dates changed since you printed it out.

There is a difference between covering the Indian army in detail and covering it historically. The Indian army in Starter Battle 3 is a fantasy match up against the Macedonians. It would be easy enough to change the scenario to make the Indian bow MF be Bow, Sword and to give the Indian cavalry light spear in place of lance. The change for the Bow probably wouldn't make much difference, the change from lance might, in terms of game balance.keithmartinsmith wrote:There is no intention to cover the Indian Army in any detail until we get to it in the army builder.
On the help changes the most common change is to typing errors. All the others relate to rules changes listed in the revision notes.

As another glitch in this battle, one of the three units of Hypaspists is rated as MF while the other two are HF. The three should all be categorized the same, I assume.
One other thing I noticed in this game which may or may not be a change, is that units that shoot essentially get a free change of facing at the end of their move if they shoot at a unit in their front arc. I've seen LF and LH do this before but hadn't noticed it for non-skirmishers but I'm not sure this is actually new behavior.
Is this the intended behavior? For example this can allow undrilled bow armed MF to be able to back up one hex and still shoot at enemy behind them that are in range. It can also provide a way for HCh to change their facing for next turns charged into a position where a non bow armed undrilled cavalry could not. It seems like slightly anomalous behavior especially for undrilled troops.

I receive a lot of those. but what use are they when I don't know the password???iainmcneil wrote:Good news - the v1.02 patch for Field of Glory Digital has been released! It adds more cool features and fixes some bugs. Full details are below.
New Features
- Private challenges. You can now add passwords to multiplayer challenges so only your desired opponent can access them. Private challenges are marked with a padlock.

Yes I can. But so could the challenger before he sends the challenge. That seems the polite and most effective way to do it.deeter wrote:You could PM the challenger and ask for the password.

Yesterday I had 17 challenges from 9 different users. (not everyone sends a paired game) and the challenge expires after a while. So I've seen. and will see challenges disapear before I sent a PM or receive an answer.
And to use this method you have to assume that all players are active in the forum. They are not.

You can see all challenges that have been issued so private challenges are not necessarily for you. Unless someone has asked you for a game they are likely not for you!
We did not want to limit it so challenges were issued to a single person. This could end up in usernames being typed wrong. Also this way you can issue a challenge to a group of people e.g. your wargames club and within your club you all use the same password so you can all join each others games. It is much more flexible.
