Poll -- chariot army wars!
Which of these armies would you like to see most in miniature (15mm) -- Libyan Egyptian with libyans looking a bit different from the normal Egyptian stereotypical depiction, or early New Kingdom Egyptians (reign of the mighty Thutmose III), or Mitanni, or Hittites?
Remember it takes a long time to create a miniature line, but your input now will mean one of these armies in 2010!

The basic infantry have been done for ages ... even cast! But people went heavy negative on the spara that was made so I had it remade and it's going to be cast along with the immortals (very nice models the immortals are, too!). I'm just going to release all the Persian foot, sparabara and immortals, at the same time, my guess being early Feb 2010.Eques wrote:did you ever bring out your persians?

Since Mike Broadbent will be making these for me I'm now leaning toward breaking down and having him make the later Neo-Assyrians as he's already made them in 28mm so getting them done would be a simple matter.
Mitanni seems popular but I'm quite curious as to why. Hittites also did well, it may turn out to be a choice between Hittites and Neo-Assyrians. Hittites actually allow lots of different troops to be made that can form 13th C. BC armies. Later Neo-Assyrian seems quite a good army though ....

Thanks Hammy. Which of the three would you be most likely to plonk down money on and paint up -- Mitanni, Hittites, or Neo-Assyrians?hammy wrote:I voted for Mitanni mainly because there are very few figures on the market that are truly Mitanni. I have used a Mitanni army but it was formed from my assorted 2 horse chariot horde.
They did invent the 2 horse chariot so should be represented in miniature IMO.

Neo-Assyrian Empire is the "best" army in StE, but there are plenty of figures already avalaible.khurasan_miniatures wrote:Thanks Hammy. Yes, but there's a reason for that!rbodleyscott wrote:Neo-Assyrian Empire is the "best" army in StE, but there are plenty of figures already avalaible.khurasan_miniatures wrote:Thanks Hammy. Well chichimecs have only just been granted their FoG list. You may find people start to buy them as a result.khurasan_miniatures wrote:Yes, but there's a reason for that!. There are lots of late roman ranges out there, but they are one of my best selling lines. Same goes for the Vikings, they sell really, really well. On the other hand I am the only manufacturer in the world to make the dalarna levy and the chichimecs in 15mm, and no one buys them.

I dunno. I was interested in Chichimecs UNTIL I saw the list. Waiting now to see how they are treated in FOGR.hammy wrote:Well chichimecs have only just been granted their FoG list.
