Help! Problem with v1.01

Post by Jarhead0331 »

Ever since updating to version 1.01, I've had an odd graphics anomaly that makes play impossible. The screen constantly flashes...its so bad if I had epilepsy it would cause seizures. I have to exit the game right away to avoid nausea and/or headache so its really hard to troubleshoot. Any idea what is causing this and how I can solve it?

I'm running on vista64 and I have an ATI 4800 series graphics card.

Thanks in advance.

Sorry you're having problems - can you post full system specs. Have you got the latest drivers for your graphcis card?

And this is definitely only since you updated to the new version? You ran fine with the previous one? Just so we know where to look.

Cheers

Sorry it took me so long to reply...I've been on trial all week.

I'm doing a re-install now. Yes, the problem only started after I updated with the patch. It worked fine before hand.

I'm running on Intel i7 3Ghz with Vista-64 Home Edition service pack 2, 3 GB Ram. What other info. do you need?

OK...bad news. I did an uninstall of the base unpatched game and I had the same problem...so its not a patch issue. I updated my ATI drivers about two weeks ago. I now suspect it is a driver conflict.

Jarhead - I'm guessing you have a microsoft mouse. Try updating the mouse driver. I had some odd issues with some games until I did that. turned out the way MS set up the zoom feature in the previous driver caused graphics issues.

That is an interesting theory...however, the mouse is manufactured by Gateway and this is a problem that appears to have developed after I updated my ATI graphics drivers. When I first installed, everything worked fine and I certainly have not toyed with the mouse software at all.

Still, I'll look into it and thanks for the idea.

Hi i noticed your using ATI Radeon card/drivers.
I also have a very minor issue regarding a slight flicker that sometimes appears during the game.
Also on the rare occassion the screen will lock up and become distorted. However i can fix this by minumizing the game window with alt + tab.
I just thought i'd speak up because it does appear the game has issues with ATI radeon drivers.
There are also a few other cases on the forum of users with ATI radeon cards having problems.
:)

ATI Radeon 3650 latest drivers.
Vista 64bit.
Dual core.
8gb ram.
