Looking at doing Wallachians, and ordering minis here and there maily as samples. The Voynuk infantry I have look very much like Timurid or Ottoman or Moghul armored cavalry armed with monstrous axes. Very eastern and Islamic looking, and better equipped than many of the knights and boyars. Some sites and posts I have read elsewhere say this representation is inaccurate. Some very nice DBA armies portray them as eastern European looking infantry with large shields and shortish halberds and bardishe axes. These look nice and easy to obtain or convert.

Anyone know differently? Any decent books that can be recommended?
