Later Crusader Special Campaign

Post by tvknight415 »

I'm not quite sure on how the special campaign option for the Later Crusader army works with regard to the minimum troop bases, and so far I haven't been able to locate the answer in the rulebook or army builder book (I'm still learning, so it is very possible I missed it somewhere).

The special campaign lists 6 base battle groups of mixed formation, which would be 3 spear and 3 crossbow. However, for the total bases, it just lists 'all or none'. Am I still bound by the 8 base minimum for other Spearmen in the core troops list when using this option (and thus, effectively require 9 bases of other spear as a minimum since each BG would have 3 bases of spear)?

And, of course, where is the answer found for future reference? :)

Thanks.

You are so bound, so (if you have any) you have to have at least 3 mixed BGs of "other" spearmen/crossbowmen.

It effectively bumps the minimum of "other" crossbowmen to 9 too, since you have to have them to get at least 8 bases (9 bases) of "other" spearmen.

It isn't specified anywhere except in the list. It follows from the logic of the words in the list, which you have successfully divined.
