Bursting Through Friends & Interpenetration

Post by Petefloro »

On page 49,top left it says about bursting through friends:-
"move the evading or routing battle group to the full extent of it's move.If it's move does not completely clear all friends,it is placed beyond any battle groups(s) it is currently bursting through if there is room for it beyond, other wise it is destroyed....."
OK,does "battle groups(s)" mean that if a BG evades/routs straight back thru a friendly BG & there is another friendly BG directly behind that one,it carries on evading/routing thru the second BG as well (provided it could be reached with the evade/rout move) until there is room for it to be placed? And of course it would disrupt both BGs.
Does this rule apply to LF as well? If so the interpenetration +2MU rule is not needed in this case, because the LF could just move right thru any way couldn't they?
I suppose the relationship between bursting thru & interpenetration is confusing me a bit.
Can some one clarify please?
Thanks in advance.

OK,thanks
How do you play the rule on top of page 49?
"move the evading or routing battle group to the full extent of it's move.If it's move does not completely clear all friends,it is placed beyond any battle groups(s) it is currently bursting through if there is room for it beyond, other wise it is destroyed....."
I assume battle groups(s) = battle group(s).Typo error?
We had a situation where a routing BG had a friendly BG to it's rear and another one beyond that - with no room in between. So it moved thru both, disrupting them.
Some one said that if there had been more BGs in the way, with no room in between the routing BG would have gone thru them as well,("clear ALL friends") until there was room or they were destroyed because of enemy BG etc.
Is this right?
Thanks

Any BG it gets into in its move + VMD it clears. (Unless) If there is then not room beyond, because there is another obstacle in the way, e.g. more friends, enemy, terrain that reduces its move even further or impasseable, it is destroyed.

This is where completely surrounding the enemy can be a disadvantage as enemy BG do not break through but are instead destroyed, not disrupting any of their friends.

putting the arg into argumentative, except for the lists I check where there is no argument!
