Resigning a game

I notice that if a player resign a game, the result is a draw, since the game isn´t finished, is that WAD?

Single or multiplayer? Where exactly do you see it shown as a draw?

I saw the same thing in a multiplayer game. I was getting soundly beaten, and I resigned to save the time of losing. The box opened to show the final status of the two armies, and at the bottom said the fight was a draw. I saw the same thing when I replayed the final turn from the "Results" area of the multiplayer screen.
