Iroquois -- Eastern Woodland Culture

Post by khurasan_miniatures »

Look to the left, I find myself on a little horsy.

Am busily making Chinantecs for my second Blood and Gold army, and will then make a third. I was considering forging ahead with the pre-Spanish Araucana but it's lots of offensive spears like the Chinantc, so may make something totally different.

I don't have any warband armies so I am considering the Eastern Woodland Culture, specifically Iroquois, partly because it was located where I live! How does this army stack up against:

1) other armies in B&G
2) other warband armies
3) other armies generally (in a non-themed tournament setting)

Would like to know ahead of time if the army is a non-starter. Does bow* give the army an advantage over other irregular impact foot armies?

:D

Does that give an advantage though? I've heard disparaging things about bow*.

Worth the points cost you pay for them - don't expect it to do much against real troops unless the screw up.

In this case troops that you could be forced to test.

8 bases of impact Bw* have 4 shooting dice.

vs an enemy like themselves.
they need three hits to get a 1 per 3. So even if you are superior you have less than even money forcing a hit. Then it is without a negative CT. Assume the enemy has a general or rear support for a +1 and if they are superior. You are talking low order of doing much.

Now against say a single LH unit of 4 stands. You can get 3 or 4 shots depending on how it lines up. The you only need 2 hits and your chance of a -1 CT etc means you may do something.

Against enemy armoured foot you need 5s so even forcing a hit is hard.
