Thanks for the comments!

Well, about the first modification, I like the idea of two units of 4, I just thought that maybe 6 LH could take on 4s very easily, so they would be useful neutralizing enemy light cavalry...
About the Scutarii, well, they'd be holding terrain, and they're really good at that, but maybe it's a good idea to get them up to 8 bases... but about the Gallic foot... why take them out?
I don't know why a lot of you thought I'd be fighting against romans hahaha, but my most usual oponents would be Spartans, Macedonians, and maybe other succesors...
Aren't 2 BGs of 8 bases enough? I mean, Armoured and Superior, this guys are really tough

Would you take 2 BGs of Javelinmen instead of one of Javs and one of Slingers? It's just 6 points less, but maybe it could be useful...

Well, any more comments would be appreciated again :D

One on one, with Light Spear your advantage over other LH would be in Impact, and you get only 2 bases in Impact if opposing LH in 4s anyway. And 2 LH can circle round and double-team an opponent or be flexibly used in different roles.

You will want armoured Spears 8 bases 3 wide if you want to beat Pikes head on so you can lose a base without losing your POA while the Pikes lose a POA with 4th rank bases lost.

I find Gauls, in whichever army they appear, seem to get themselves in trouble (mine at least are not as tough as they think they are).

I find that the ability to put them in two different places or circle around the enemy to be more valuable.

Weaker foot are much tougher in 8s - especially against shooting. Having to get 3 hits on them to force a test is a big difference.

The armoured spear are you best troops so IMO get as many as possible. Also, unlike the Spanish they are much tougher even as a 6 base BG, so the extra BG overall and greater flexibility of having 3 BGs of them outweighs the advantage of having 2 8s.

Javelins vs. Slingers is a judgement call, if you have the AP go ahead and get slingers but this is not an army with much missile power so having a little bit more doesn't matter much. You are going to win on your impact/melee capabilities.

The Gauls basically don't add much that your Spears don't already do. The spears are very good. Even against successors I would just go 2 deep, force the enemy to line up 36 pike to take on your 18 spear if necessary. Of course ideally you'll get the spear matched up against the Xystophoroi who they will slaughter - again another reason to take 3 BGs of them.

I think this army is pretty flexible with a good mix of unspectacular troops supporting the spears. The spears are the center piece and you have to get full value out of them. I think it is worth a shot - enough so that I just painted up 72 figures worth of African veterans myself.

10BGs total.
I think this could be a good army against Romans like armies (I mean armies with good infantry but few cavalry). You can deploy your spear flanked by MF and Cav by one side, and LF and LH by other side. Keep a BG of LF to deploy in front of spear (slinger are the better choice if opponent doesn't put his LF to protect his front, otherwise javelinmen). Now your tactic is to use your LF to delay opponent's foot (if you only close the distance with opponent's foot prevent them to make a double move) while you attack opponent's flank with your cavalry and harass other flank with your LH. If you manage to defeat opponent's cavalry, you will can fight against his foot with the support of your cavalry behind enemy's lines.

Having a Selucid army and having taken on a Spanish army which is all impact foot protected, I can tell you that against a pike army its the same as fighting Romans, you will be even on impact and then its ++ for the pikes -- for the Spanish.
I suggest taking as much armoured offensive spears as you can. You should even out against the pikes in melee will be down 1 in impact. I have a unit of armoured offensive spears that is in every battle since they are one of the best troop types in this era I can have.

If you are going to include Gallic Foot you need loads of them and keep them all together.
