Cohesion mods count for overlaps??

Battle Group A (foot) is fighting BG B (foot) directly to front. BG B has friendly elephants counting as overlap in the combat.

Does the cohesion test mod for losing close combat vs elephants apply if BG A has to test for losing the fighting against B & the elephants? Dead. argued no, since A is not fighting the elephants. I argued yes, since the elephants caused hits in combat.

The answer is...???

Yes, they count as losing close combat versus elephants.
