Where to start?

Post by hammy »

Hi everyone,

At the moment I don't know who all the testers are but I am sure that will become clear over time.

When I first recieved the rules and lists it was a lot to digest. I have now managed a first time through reading them and made some random comments into notepad as I did. I will post my comments in a separate thread but it would be nice if others could do a similar exercise as they read the rules for the first time.

We need to be clear that this is still a beta and not without loopholes. I am assured that as the main mechanisms of the game click into place the loopholes and such will be closed and presentation will be polished.

I was very pleased to see a lot of diagrams even thoug the text boxes in some of them seem to be too small with text flowing beyond the box :(

I am hoping to be able to get in at least one full game a fortnight and ideally one a week to get started. There is no requirement on anyone to test at this rate but the more games we manage the better the final product should be.

Here's to a good beta.

Yours

Great :) Don't forget to fill in your feedback forms after reading the rules and before playing a game. Ideally do this before you read comments from others as it will bias your feedback. We want your opinions before they've been sullied by others ;)

And remember its ok to be brutal. We wont get upset or hurt. If you think something sucks we need to know so we can fix it or at least better explain it!

Hi James,
here is Paolo "will not defend behind an hill again" Paglianti :)

I've just quick-read the rules: as I wrote to JD, the first feeling is of a game closer to Warhammer Ancient Battles then DBM. However, I'll have clearer ideas after this weekeend, when I plan to read them better.

meanwhile, I apologize for my bad English :)

cheers

Just a point on Hammys note re the text boxes.

The Diagrams are very much place holder only. The style and presentation in the finished article will be very different.

So you dont need to worry to much at this stage about layout and presentation

If you can send the feedback spreadsheet to JD aand post rules questions and comments here I think that is the right way to do things.
