Anthony, thanks for your efforts, and thank you for pointing out that Roger Le Flor shouldn't be able to be used as your Ally General. I shall point this out next time he's about to over-run my army, call forth the umpire and generally act in a totally ungentlemanly manner :)

Syracusans wasnt it? I tried my first had at sculpting in 15mm tonight. Just easy stuff at first and I will see how it goes from there. I am modelling cloaks for my spartans so a spartan/syracusan war or doubles match against athenians woudl be good.

I hope for every superior spartan to have a cloak. I have made half out of metal flag material and the others out of green stuff. So far so good.

I have had some nice results making cloaks by brushing acrylic modelling paste onto 15mm minis as a preliminary step and initial modelling, then using epoxy putties such as green stuff to add the bulkier folds and off of model edge details. The acrylic must dry thoroughly first, and it shrinks quite a bit.

You are a determined man to do up all the Spartiates with added cloaks, but that will look outstanding!

When using green stuff it helps to heat the metal by having it sit close to a 40 or 60 watt bulb. Any kind of handy lamp will work, the bulb just has to be near the metal, not touching it. It also helps to cure it faster by using the bulb. Remember to wash your hands as the green stuff is toxic when mixed, but once dry it is neutral stuff and no more problems.

Nice pictures. I especially liked your fantasy bear/lion/thingy, well done. Good luck on the battle field.

Well, yes, they WERE Syracusans. Now they are dead Greeks or servants for the greater glory of the Latin Greek Empire! From memory it was the cheating-never should have been there-illegally played-Roger Le Flor that did most the the damage... well, there were a few Catlans helping him from memory!

Interesting you should say that. The company I worked for suffered a horrible rout from the Superior Global Financial Crisis on the weekend and I got the call 'don't come to work on Wednesday' yesterday. I'll be doing some painting and sculpting to try to make a bit of extra money until I get a decent job again.
