Tibetan Cataphracts

Post by Spartacus »

I am about to start painting a Tibetan Army 7th - 9th Century (Empires=List 72)

As it has a lot of Cataphracts I have been searching for info on the Armour.

I have come to this final conclusion :-

Units would be uniformed and the Armour could be any colour I want.

Would this be about right? I hope so as I did not want to end up with a Chainmail coloured Army.

Any links or info would be much appreciated. (No money offered though  )

Those figures look like you could paint the barding as quilted material instead of metal.

That`s the way I intend doing them Spike. But wanted to see if anyone could come up with anything better than I could after an evenings searching.

Could also be painted armour, that was done sometimes. Or horn -- that was done too.

As to the metallic, I actually like the look of bare metal. You can actually get a lot of variety out of it, painting the sold bits a little lighter and the chainmail quite dark. Looks striking.
