Battle cards...to be or not to be...

Post by direwolf »

Hi all,

I thought it might be a good idea to share our exp. with battle cards and how we use them in battle. Some are obvious while the value of others is sometimes surprising, i'll start off by saying that i think it's imperative that you plan on leveling your general to max cards (8). You will definitely need them later in the game.

With that said my first nominee is:

Sudden Panic: This card MAY be the most powerful in the deck. I typically use this card by determining which flank i plan on attacking...surround the enemy end unit with cav and then use the card. Because there is nowhere for the unit to move it disintegrates (u know what i mean). I then roll my cav and hvy inf up this flank while my hvy spears hold the line.

cheers,
DW

There are many good cards, but I don't have a favourite yet. "Bad Omen" is nice, but it's unclear how long the morale penalty lasts.

"Kill the leader" sounds good on paper, if only it would lower the morale level by 1 it would actually be truly useful.

"Drunk" is a pretty nice, as you can cause a powerful unit to walk around aimlessly whilst you finish off the rest of the enemy troops.

The rallying cards are pretty mediocre, as they barely increase the morale level by 1.

i've played both campaigns twice and have determined that sudden panic is almost like a cheat. sometimes when the unit is close to their entry point, sudden panic can rout that unit right off the map.
