A quick question

Post by Wolfe1759 »

I have had the warning "Your General has fallen" come up in a few battles - what effect does this have ?

Pardon me, but I'll hijack the thread with a quick question of my own:

What are the consequences of a unit routing during a battle, as seen after the battle is over? XP penalty for the unit or the like?

There is currently no penalty for a routed unit once the battle is complete. The aim is to avoid a feedback loop where someone who is having problems gets penalised further.

Thanks for the reply

Now another question - what is the difference in upgrade icons in the army screen for a selected unit 9in the lower right of the screen) having red, light grey or dark grey backgrounds

For example one of my units Duke of Lancaster (Level 7) Mounted Man at Arms, Cutting Sword (1 Handed Sword), Round Shield (Medium Sheild) has the following in red - Cutting Sword, Round Shield, Sword Proficiency; in light grey - Ward; in dark grey - Shield Block, Horsemanship, Neck Reigning

It seems:

Red=attack skill or equipment.
Light grey=general skill.
Dark grey=defense skill.

Red is your equipment. Grey is an active skill. Light grey is an inactive skill (i.e. it requires equipment you do not currently have).

Red has both equipment and some skills.

By light grey do you mean faded-out ?

For example with a now dismounted and slightly upgraded Duke of Lancaster (Level 7) - Dismounted Knight in Mail, Cutting Sword (1 Handed Sword), Round Shield (Medium Shield) I have the following

Red - Cutting Sword, Round Shield, Sword Proficiency, Foyne
Dark Grey - Shield Block
Light Grey - Plough Ward
Faded-out - Horsemanship, Neck Reining

P.S. Tried to add a screen shot but got 403 access denied error

Sorry yes I mean faded out is inactive. The other colours group skills together. It's just skills of a similar type have a similar colour - it doesn't really mean anything significant.

Thanks for the reply, all clear now.

I've got a few units with inactive skills as it took a while for the penny to drop that the skills requirement related to the parenthasised description under the weapons name whereas I had just assumed that for instance a 1 handed sword was a 1 handed melee weapon.
