T'ang Chinese unit sets?

Post by khurasan_miniatures »

I assume that Tang Chinese Cavalry unit sets should be four bases (both heavy and light cavalry). How about the foot?

They are protected, average, half light spear swordsman, half bow.

How about units of crossbows? They are protected average crossbow.

I'll be selling prepackaged units at a discount so would appreciate feedback. Thanks.

Early T'ang infantry are 6-8 bases IIRC, with a minimum of 12 bases in the army. Only a single unit of foot crossbows is allowed, of 6-8 bases.

so a BG set would be 12 Lt Sp Sw blokes and 12 Bowmen. Giving the option of 4 to a base for the old stick in the muds, and bigger BG of 3 to a base for modernists

putting the arg into argumentative, except for the lists I check where there is no argument!

Got that, thanks. Just curious as to what the more popular unit size might be, and whether three, or four, to a base.

Thanks!

I'd personally go sixes for the XBows, and eights for the LSp/Bow.

Also, as I'm a miser and am now free of the pesky Reg/Irreg distinction of four or three figures to a base, I'd put three figures to a base for any new medium foot purchases.

However, as someone suggested, if you put 12 LSp and 12 Bow in a box, that would give people options wrt BG size and figures per base.
