I think it just needs somebody to take the lead on running it.

I don't think I can take the lead, but I sure can be the spreadsheet man.

It's actually a bit late to start this now. Usually, about a month is allotted for sign ups and organizing such an event. This has taken place in Sept - Oct. In the past. Starting now, you will have to deal with holiday season, when many are traveling or busy with family.

Also TDC traditionally starts in early Jan, overlapping that might lead some to avoid one or the other.
