I Am Spartacus - Results

Post by Karvon »

Please post your results here.

1. Scoring

Post only the final raw score in the top-left corner of the screen, as we input data into a spreadsheet template that calculates the actual score

An outright victory. That is, you have routed the opposing force. The difference between the scores + 60 points

For example: 60:47 = 73:47; 40:15 = 85:15; 40:0 = 100:0

If no army has been routed or both have inflicted 60%+ casualties, this will be classed as a Draw. The recorded score will then be used

For example: 66:65 = 66:65; 43:27 = 43:27; 37:0 = 37:0

2. A short AAR and screenshots are always welcome and give more life to the event.

3. All matches must be reported by Dec. 27, midnite PST (West Coast, USA).

Karvon's Romans defeated kroche's Slaves 45 - 18.

Several steep hills lay on or closer to the Slaves' side of the field. We decided to concentrate our forces on our right, opposite the one closest to us. We sent our massed medium foot ahead to seize the high ground. Our legionnaires shifted in behind them, slowly making their way up and around the slopes in support. A couple of lights probed forward as scouts and screens. On our left, our cavalry, supported by lights, attempted to delay and harass the Slaves as they slowly wheeled across the field to face our foot on the hill.

The Slaves gradually drew up along the base of the hill, facing our mix of medium foot and legionnaires holding the crest. Their light climbed the steep slopes and pelted one of our mediums with missiles, slowly wearing them down. Some of the Slaves surged up the slopes, attempting to displace our waiting mediums. However, a number of our legionnaires and mediums forced their way around the right side of the hill, dispatching the facing slaves and flanking those on the lower slopes, leading to the collapse of Slaves.

Alas, Spartacus escaped, surrounded by some of his bodyguards. Our patrols are out scouring the countryside, and he should be apprehended and nailed up on a cross in due course.

Karvon's Romans defeated ilpars Slaves 42 - 8.

A hilly plateau ran along the right side of the field, dominated by a large steep hill near the center and a neighboring smaller one along the edge. A few small hills were scattered across the field.

We decided to concentrate most of our forces on our right. Our lights and medium led the way, followed by our heavy foot. Our horse we deployed on our left as a delaying and distracting force.

The Slaves deployed in a long line, with their heavy foot in the center and on their right in the more open ground, and their lesser slaves on the left facing the steep hills and rough ground.

While our horse harried and delayed on our left, we seized the high ground on our right, and most of our mediums and heavy foot turned the enemy left, destroying most of the lesser slaves in the process,

Kroche (Romans) defeats Karvon (Slaves) 62-52

Slave army quickly occupied the difficult hill on Roman right as the Romans advanced to lay siege. A contingent of well armed slaves was also rapidly circumventing the hill out of sight of the Romans and emerged to threaten the Roman right before it was fully supported. As the Romans tried to knock the Slaves from the hill in what was now the centre the Slaves moved to threaten the Roman left. The Roman right was most at risk and was close to collapse before main units rallied to break the Slave attack. Match was in the balance until the Roman rally. GG

Karvon's Slaves defeated Solemnace's Romans 58-32.

A long horseshoe-shaped ridge covered by quite a bit of rough ran along the center to the right edge. A large forest lay inside this on our side of the field. A long plateau ran along the left side of the field, rising to a taller hill on our side. A medium-sized wood lay in about the center between this and the edge. A lot of rough was scattered along this plateau in the center area.

We set out a couple of token scouts and our horse to locate the Romans, and deployed our forces enmass on our left behind the plateau. Our plan was to advance along the left edge screened by the plateau and woods and then turn the Roman right, while some of our better-armed slaves held the higher ground. Our lone horse was to harry the enemy scouts and, hopefully, distract the superior number of Roman horse.

The Romans deployed a horse and a division of medium foot opposite the woods on their right, their legionnaires in the center, and most of their horse on their left. Their lights formed a loose screen ahead of them

Initially uncertain as to our location, the Romans advanced directly ahead behind their scouts. We pushed forward, out of sight, behind the woods and plateau with the bulk of our forces, and held back behind the hill with our planned blocking force, also still hidden. Our scouts and horse slowly fell back before the superior numbers of the Roman screen.

The Romans discovered a few of our forces on the left and began wheeling and shifting to face these. Not realizing the strength of our advancing flanking force, their mediums entered the woods in an attempt to secure the flank of their advance. They found themselves quickly engaged by superior numbers, and a hot fight ensued. The Roman horse aggressively chased after our scouts and horse, moving away from the main fray developing on their right.

The Romans detached a few heavy foot to screen the woods and support their beleaguered mediums, as the rest advanced on. We moved up our blocking force from behind the hill and took up defensive positions along the higher slopes to face the oncoming Roman legionnaires. More and more of our flanking forces poured out from behind the woods, enveloping the engaged Roman mediums and slowly wiping them out. The Roman horse on their left tracked ours down and finally chased it off the field, one following along after it.

Our flanking forces destroyed the Roman mediums and moved on around the woods to flank the Roman heavy foot screening the woods. The Romans attacked our blocking force on the hill and began to grind them down, thanks to their superior armor and training.

Our flanking forces engulfed the Roman heavy foot facing the woods and began to systematically destroy them. The Romans finished off our blocking force on the hill, but they found most of their army had been wiped out by then, giving us the victory.
