Yep, even after so much time I'm also learning new aspects.

Imho the Baku oil fields are the best to access, mainly coming from Rostov and Grozny.
But it still takes some time and it requires a dedicated thrust with a considerable force in that direction. The northern flank of that thrust is much easier to defend at the Volga between Stalingrad and Astrakhan. Also helps to defeat the units there before they come after you.
Even with such a commitment Baku is usually more like a mid game goal than an early target.
But the fuel issues for your airforce experience get much worse over time, so getting two more oil fields is very valuable in the long run.

Ah, yep, the flag hunting and recapturing and so on. Every bit helps and those can be fun command raids.
I'll have to try Scapa Flow, that would be historic!

I think planes have an extremely low chance of destroying a mine. On the other hand the mine does not shoot back at an aircraft. Destroyers are much faster but more expensive. As far as I remember the mines being expensive or time consuming to clear is intentional. As it simulates the considerable investment necessary for such an invasion.

Malta should be doable with 2 aircraft attacks per turn, as long as those aircraft have high hard attack. Eg by aircraft type, class (tac bomber), experience bonus and of course attack heroes.
I'm not sure if the Ju 87 has the fortkiller trait in Battlefield Europe. Probably not?

For Malta it helps to use Rudel as he reliably scores damage each turn. Also, only use capital ships against it during bad weather or it will shoot back at them.

A question (mostly to McGuba): when speaking about the effects of Soviet recapture of Soviet reinforcement-limiting city, or region hexes - does this also apply on airfields next/near to them? I mean, if a major city hex is recaptured than all of the previous turns accumulated soviet reinforcement-limiting effect goes away and many soviet units will appear on the map. That is clear. But what happens, when an airfield next/near to them is recaptured? Like the airfields at Moscow, or the airfields at the Caucasus important towns, or Stalingrad, Leningrad? Thank you.

Not sure if I proposed that before, but that fortkiller trait on eg the Ju 87 D models could help them be more useful against bunkers. Currently the Ju 87 G with guns is better against bunkers, due to their higher hard attack.

BREAKING!

After the 9th reload (in the later stage of the war, sometimes 10, or less reload of turns were needed), I did finally a DV!! 8)

I did not plan it so, but I could really finish it in the last turn: Eliminating both Stalin and capturing the Abadan oil fields. OK, Archangelsk could be captured one turn earlier. 8)

So, it is possible to make a DV with 25% prestige and 50% experience - but it is on the edge, even with a tons of reloads.
UPDATE: maybe if I do not strip so far my forces at the Suez canal, a faster movement can be done and the oil wells can be taken faster in the Middle East. Maybe I will try out... :D

I will publish the replay, but I also plan to make an AAR, hopefully with videos and pictures. But first: some rest. :D

Quoting from McGuba from page 1:

"Battlefield: Europe - The Ultimate World War II Multiplayer Experience

If you got bored of fighting against the predictable AI why not give a try to the multiplayer version of this mod? :D
Playing against another human general is a completely new challenge and will put your skills to a real test. But fear not, when it comes to a duel, there has to be a loser (unless the result will be a draw) and when playing this mod even losing can be a lot of fun (and this is something I can guarantee as I have already lost two matches and have a good chance to lose another one or two soon :) ) and you can give your opponent a run for his money by making it a glorious loss!

Also, we have a board for the matches to make it easier to find an opponent and to figure out who has more experience:

And anyone can add new entries here:

I made a modified experience unit bonus tab regarding of the changes of 2.5.1.
I hope, I made everything right - correct me, if something still needed to be changed.

Congratulations for your great victory!

Diffiuclty setting of 25% prestige with 50% experience on top sounds insurmountable!!
Maybe McGuba can add it as a difficulty option called "Uhu" :!:

Looking forward to an AAR, will hopefully have more time to read it in the winter months.

This is beyond impressive!

After something like this you know every single unit by heart and every tree in Russia and every grain of sand in Africa by first name…

This replay will serve as a training video for generations to come!

How many hours was this playthrough (alone)?
