Shooting cohesion tests

Post by tyronec »

I thought that units used the same RNG for all shooting tests during a turn.
Here the keil passes the first test and fails the second one but there are no extra maluses applied, how can this happen ?

The only explanation that I can think of is that the first test could be a mis report - so not enough shooting casualties for a test and even if it would have failed nothing happens. So the second reported test is actually the first real test.

Are you sure that units used the same RNG? I don't remember this.

That has always been my understanding, but I don't know if it says so anywhere in the rules.

As I have posted before, each round of shooting is in fact two volleys, and there is a roll that is used for all 1st volleys, and a second roll that is used for all 2nd volleys. Which roll is used for the cohesion test depends on which volley triggers the cohesion test.

This is to simulate the tabletop game which has shooting by all units on both players turns, with separate cohesion tests for each turn.
