I'm a big fan of the PC2 random mission generator but I can't find any Waffen-SS units in the purchase screens, am i looking in the wrong places or what?

Or what. Some historical inaccuracies are necessary to keep selling the game in various national markets.

Like he said, to be more specific, if you pronounce waffen-ss in Germany or any Nazi stuff, you can get arrested. So anyways, Slitherine wouldnt be able to sell their games with such unit named like that in Germany and probably some other countries as well. They are not proud of this part of their history to say the least, and they want everybody to move on.
