Division B

Solemnace Swedish 1450CE-1500CE defeats IMC Venetian 1440-1500 67-48

Swedish Scandinavian foot had shown in other battles to be dependable and sturdy infantry holding against all the odds at times agaisnt powerful foes. This time many of the Swedes on the left flank crumbled quickly against the Swiss Pikes of the Venetians and their supporting mercenary infantry. The Superior cavalry of the Swedes though did eventually smash the Venetian's mercenary men at arms but by this point the centre of the Swedish infantry had arrived to help break down the Venetians. On the right flank Swedish infantry faced off against the rest of the Venetian Mercenary Men at arms and despite losses held their own breaking some of the Venetians and preventing the rest from aiding in the main fight on the Swedish right. Eventually the Venetian right crumbled agaisnt the Swedes and by the end all that was left were the Swiss who'd marched across the battlefield and back, A single remaining Dismounted Mercenary men at arms menaced by handguns and Men At Arms and a rallied unit of pikemen still fragmented from the beating they had taken with Two Mercenary men at arms on the oppositie flank. The surviving Venetian troops promptly sold out their employers to arrange an escape from the lost battle.

After losing some units to the skirmish, the Genoese made up for it in the melee. However, this eventually led to Genoese infantry fighting Ottoman lights and neither could score a decisive win.

SirMichael takes the slight 48 - 45 Draw advantage after the 24 turn limit was reached.

EdmondDantes Ottomans stretched the open field of play very well leaving Castile to chase cavalry with infantry. Good work playing a challenging army Edmond

Div A:

Nijis (Lithuanians plus Tatars) defeats Triarii (Danish plus Swedes), 49 to 9.

The Lithuanian horsemen faced a Danish army in shining steel, bristling with pikes, halberds, crossbows and the muzzle of cannon. As the eastern European cavalry spread out, the Danes bunched together, then advanced methodically to the attack. But nothing went the northerners' way. The Lithuanian horse archers able to pull back, while their knights' counter-charges were devastatingly effective. A massive melee involving the bulk of both sides' knights broke the Lithuanians' way, and the Lithuanians were then able to pick off enough isolated Nordic units to drive them from the field.

The Lithuanians had a great deal of luck in this one, in melee, in standing up to missile-fire and in evading the Danish knights.

SirMichael (Castile) defeats IMC (Venetian) 56 - 27

A tricky battle where I won the race to victory on one flank while desperately delaying and surviving on the other. I was able to preoccupy and scatter the enemy Knights a bit (on my weak flank) and tried to not get chewed up too bad by yet another Swiss Keil monster (Venetian) unit in the center. Keil are expensive but deadly! My strong flank had shear numbers of infantry to overwhelm the Venetian infantry.

The Swiss pikes and Dismounted Men at Arms eventually did damage to the refused Danish left but gunpowder mounted troops and two Keils were able to shift the Venetian left aided by a flanking.
