So, which is the player's side? (please say the North, please say the North! )

I need to explain: I find the Soviet countermix much more interesting than the American, and playing the less resourced side is more interesting than a massive superpower with infinite resources. The North Koreans are ideal from that respect, especially as they didn't have access to the full Soviet arsenal. Then there is the PLA (or rather the "volunteers") who also should have a tremendous quirky countermix.

As an aside: Countermix-wise, another great side is Britain. Very quirky and specialised, ideal for PzC-style rock-paper-scissors: cruiser and infantry tanks, portees, tons of different infantry units from the Empire and from allies like the Poles, Greeks and so on. And the planes are great, with lots of fun variants. Perhaps one day some modder will make a true British DLC from the days of raining leaflets from Fairey Battles over the Ruhr, to meeting the Soviets in 1945. That would be almost (but only almost!) as fun as the Soviet DLC.

I’d love to be able to play as both the Reds and the UN ) It was really exciting—the Northerners advanced and took Seoul in three days, and then almost all of South Korea was captured ) Just a little more, and there wouldn’t have been a country called South Korea at all! But the UN pulled itself together, and the tide turned. And if it weren’t for the help of a million-strong Chinese horde of volunteers, there wouldn’t be a Red Kingdom ruled by the Kims today. )))
