Division B
SawyerK leading the Egyptian 1200-1150 BC army
defeated
rockmanbob123 and his Neo-Hittite 1179-891 BC army with Hebrew ally
by 62 to 47.
The battle was nearly even at two-thirds of the way through the day, with both armies having losses in the high 30s. But the Hittite Foot Guards were wreaking havoc, and the Egyptians were fearful of the outcome. Then an Egyptian chariot charge against a fragmented light foot unit caused a rout, which led the chariot into a disrupted light foot and another rout, followed by a flank attack on an engaged Hittite medium foot, which routed, and the chariot continued on to a third fragmented light foot, which broke on contact, and that caused a nearby fragmented light foot to break as well. That one charge led to the margin of victory displayed. That chariot commander was well rewarded by the Pharaoh!

Division A
Stones1985 (Babylonian) beat ulysisgrunt (Hebrew with Kushite Allies) by a score of 40 to 13.
As the Hebrew/Kushite heavy chariots rolled into view it was clear that the battle would hinge on how successful they would be and whether they could break through the Babylonian line or whether they would be thwarted by the Babylonian archery power. In the end only 2 did break through but 5 didn't and paid the price. So that pretty much decided things. Thanks for the game.

Karvon Hittite 1275 defeated IMC Sea Peoples 1208 - 1176BC 40 - 12
Our lights and light chariots drove off or destroyed the Sea People's screening lights and handful of light chariots, then fell upon his foot. Our light chariots slowly drew units out of formation, and we decimated isolated units with concentrated fire from our lights. Our heavy chariots moved up to further pin down his line, and disrupted or fragmented more of his units in a series of charges. The Sea People attempted to drive our heavy chariots back, and several more of their units were disrupted or fragmented in the process. Some of our chariots returned from pursuing broken units and fell upon the flanks or rears of ongoing fights. This quickly led to multiple breaks, and the Sea People collapsed.

hscic with Egyptian 1149 - 1069 B.C. defeated IMC with Sea People 1208 - 1176 B.C. 55 - 26
A really great game. By sacrificing the fire of their light infantry, the Egyptians managed to secure the high ground over the Sea Peoples. At that point, the Egyptian infantry's inferiority was offset by the elevation advantage, and the battle turned into a matter of luck. Thanks to IMC for the match. Given the positioning of the hills, I don't think you had any choice but to fight uphill.
